>> My name is Robbie Miller. I am the Chair of the Art Department at Santiago Canyon College. A typical day, for me, is I teach anywhere from 2 to 3 classes a day, but I also have duties affiliated with the Chair of the Department. And being the Chair of the Department, I do scheduling, I do any type of hiring, I have 10 other faculty members that work with me and so I schedule all the classes for them. Any complaints that would come from a student go straight through me. All curriculum goes through me so I spend a lot of time, not only initially writing the curriculum for any given course, but then there's a lot of updating. The foundation every year buys art for the campus and the district as a whole and I'm in charge of where that art goes. I'm in charge of organizing and labeling and preparing all that art work. We also have art shows that are ongoing here. We have a gallery that puts on student art shows and also shows from artists in the community. I get that job as well. So I get to organize gallery shows. The atmosphere at Santiago Canyon College is kind of a unique one because we are a community college, but because we're such an intimate community college, some people sort of describe us as the private community college. Just because we don't have as many students here and as many courses and so the atmosphere is extremely friendly and it's open school-wide. We're a real tight knit community around here.
